The Alumni Association of Hobe Sound Bible College has set up a Patricia Bigger Memorial Fund. All donations recieved along with a list of donors will be given to Brent Bigger to help defray the cost of funeral expenses. This is a tragedy that no one plans for. A Bit of Humor...

I just wanted to take a minute to share some funny things Katy has been saying. She never ceases to crack me up. I have no major pictures to share yet. I know I am way behind in blogging. Kyle is doing great. He will be 19 weeks tomorrow and has two bottom teeth. This of course has made not sleeping at night the major thing to keep me busy and exhausted. He weighs 16lbs and 11 oz. Anyway...I will be sharing pictures of costumes and Harvest Festivals as soon as I have them ready.

While riding in the car with Phillip and I the other day, Katy asked "Mommy why didn't Jesus make me a Mexican? I really wanted to be a Mexican girl." Phillip and I held in our laughter the best that we could and I gave a generic reply that basically said I was glad that Jesus made her just as she was and I wouldn't be happy with her any other way. She replied," Well when I grow up I want to be Mexican".

I was getting ready for church this past Sunday morning while listening to Katy sing one of her many colorful made up songs(hmmm....wonder where she gets that from?) and it went something like this."Every time I celebrate baby Jesus being born, the animals come to his manger and sing him a song, and Santa Clause comes to see him too, and the giraffes bow down and loooooooovvvvveeeeee him" anyway the song went on for quite awhile. It had no particular melody. I forgot to video it as usual.

Katy politely asked my dear 76 year old grandmother the other day why she had "cacks"(cracks) in her face. My grandmaw responded "Because I am old" and Katy said "Well when I get old I hope I don't have cacks like that"

New Name Written Down In Glory....

My cousin Kayla always sings this song in a rather humorous way to her children after they have been dedicated. (At least she did to Dylan) I am not making fun of the song but remembering her rendition and having sung it to Kyle...I thought it appropriate to name this post. We had Kyle dedicated to the Lord 2 Sundays ago and we do take this very seriously and note it to be a very special and joyous occasion. It was a simple and sweet ceremony that we had our Pastor, Ken Rice perform for us. (I guess "perform" may not be the best choice of words but you know what I mean) We got lots of pictures and had a nice day of fellowship and worship with our family.
Kyle and Katy have both been sick this past week. This is the third time that Kyle has been sick in his 14 weeks of age! Katy has now been sick twice since school started and this time was diagnosed with Bronchitis and put on Antibiotics and breathing treatments. Kyle didn't have quite as bad of a case thank goodness. I can honestly say that I am "sick" of sickness! During one of the doctor visits we had Kyle weighed again and he weighed 14 lbs 12.5 oz as of 3 days ago!! He is a little porker. He eats all of the time but he sleeps from 8pm until 6 or 7am! I am very blessed in that department I know. He has been sleeping this well since about 2 weeks old.
In other news we have nothing really newsworthy to report We are just enjoying our little family and all of the ups and downs of everyday life. Katy stays busy in K-4 and learning new things. We are enjoying her being there 3 days a week and so is she! I did miss her terribly at first but I have learned that I can do all sorts of things that are better done when she is not there i.e. going through old toys and clothes. She is a pack rat! I call her "Hattie" because I was always told that when my Aunt Hattie came to visit anyone that she brought everything in paper grocery bags for the stay and I always found this to be very humorous. Katy travels around the house making small stashes and piles of all sorts of things in bags and boxes and calls them her treasures. Very annoying indeed.
We are very much looking forward to a trip in November to Louisiana to see family and to celebrate my home church's 50th anniversary. We are very excited since we rarely get to go to La and we will be staying for a week or more! I will leave you with some photos now and since I am now holding a fussy Kyle I will say bye!!

Making Sausage and more....

This past week my father and Phillip went and got all of th stuff to make "Andouille". It is a heavily smoked Cajun sausage that we are not able to get here and we all use it often. We usually try to stock up on it when any of us go to Louisiana but we have long since been out of it. My dad and Phillip love to smoke meat, grill meat, make sausage and usually don't have the time to do it. They had a blast and we will definitely enjoy the fruits of their labor in many gumbos to come. I think we did approximately 11 or more pounds of meat to make it with so we are set for awhile at least. I helped chop, mix and taste of course.

Kyle is growing like a weed. I suspect that he weighs around 12 pounds or more. He eats and eats and eats. I am nursing him for 20-30 mins at a time and then he sometimes takes a formula bottle of 4 oz right after! Katy started K-4 this week and absolutely loves it. We managed to get a picture of her with her teacher Mrs. Hollie.I have also put many pictures on Facebook for those of you that have one. I have found that it is much easier to upload a lot of pictures at once on there. Enjoy the pictures.

Blog Worthy?

Hello fellow bloggers! I promise that in the next few days I will have something on here worth seeing and hopefully worth reading. I can't seem to get into the groove of blogging these days with my new little one keeping me on my toes. Katy starts K-4 on the 20th for 3 days a week. I am torn between excitement and sadness for my "baby" will no longer be with me everyday as she has been since birth. I know it will be a wonderful experience for her both socially and educationally. We did a lot of research on this school and we know another couple in our church who have their kids there. It is a large Baptist school in town and so far we like what we see. So...when she starts school next week maybe I will have time to upload some new pictures of her and Kyle. For now...well...just a short update. We will also be starting some speech therapy with her that has been ordered by her doctor. I am not sure how often or to what extent, but we will be getting her speech evaluated at our local public school to find out. Her doctor says that he can understand about 85% of what she says and that for a four year old he should be able to understand 100%. I of course, being her momma, understand everything. We were hoping she would grow out of it but she hasn't so far. Her doctor says that usually the therapy is more effective the earlier that it is started. She has trouble saying her Y's, S's, and L's among other things. For example she pronounces "They" as "Say" and "yes" as "less", "snake" as "nake", "School" as "Cool" and so on...you get the picture. Please pray for us as we start out on this new adventure.
Please remember me in your prayers for a physical touch. I am still having some very annoying and painful problems associated with being pregnant and having the baby. You know what I mean there ladies? Well if ya don't then oh well...pray for me anyway that I will get better and not have to end up having surgery(which is what I have been told that I will have to do by my MD and several other people)I promise pictures next week. Until then........tootles!

New Pictures

Just wanted to quickly share a few pictures from the last 3 weeks. I have tried to post them in order from birth to three weeks. I will try to blog something meaningful later. I know you all will be waiting with bated breath!! Thanks for checking in. BTW these pics are just random of Kyle, Katy and our family in general. One is with one of my OB Docs at his circumcision checkup. After looking at the preview of the post...I realized that I didn't post the pics chronologically...sorry...oh well.
