This will be a very sentimental post on a subject that is very dear and close to my heart. I wasn't able to do anything on grandparents day because ....well.....I forgot. I have several sets of grandparents that are all deceased except for one....my grandmother Ruby V. I am going to share some pictures of Carl and Ruby now and maybe later when I can get some more together I will share some of my grandparents Roy and Lucille E. on my father's side.

How blessed you are for having sucha a great heritage!! We will never know how their prayers have help shape your life! Wonderful post!!
I most remember him singing.."I Feel like Traveling On"...and making hoe-cake. I miss him, and miss Aunt Ruby being here in La. I know you treasure being able to care for U. CArl and now being able to be close w/A. Ruby...what a blessing for them and you. And we ARE so blessed to have such a rich heritage...not in $$ for sure...Ha!...but in the things that matter! Love Ya!
What a beautiful tribute. You are indeed blessed!
I never can sihg "Precious Name" without hearing Uncle Carl's voice echoing the repeats. He was such a precious man. One of my favorite memories is of him rearranging my Mom's front porch every time he came over. He also loved to tease her about her potato soup.
I really enjoyed visiting with Aunt Ruby again this summer. She is a wealth of knowledge.
I was able to get Mom to share a lot of our church history in the car this summer and then Bro. Gremillion told me some more stuff. Very fascinating and rich.
I feel a bit of .........
1st vs: "On the wall, On the wall,
How I love that dear old picture on the wall
2nd vs: "On the wall, On the wall,
How I love that dear old picture on the wall
Chorus: "On the wall, On the wall,
How I love that dear old picture on the wall.
Okay ...HA! I am so glad to hear other memories of him that I often forget. I guess my grandparents made a great impression as well as my grandpaw's brother and sisters. We Really do have a rich and interesting family history. Someone should write a book....no pride..no pride at all! Ha!
I, too, remember your grandparents ~ especially your grandpa. I remember him as being very outgoing and funloving. I remember seeing him at Laura Hausman's wedding, and I'm thinking other times when we were in LA. I agree - you have a "goodly heritage"!
I, too, have only one grandparent, and have enjoyed hearing from the past from him. Hope you are able to continue "gleaning" precious jewels of the past from your grandmother for many years to come! God bless!
We came up to the afternoon service on Sunday. Sorry we missed you!!!
How is Phillip's dad? I heard that he has cancer and wasn't doing very good. James
Liz, what a beautiful tribute to your grandfather and grandmother! Well written. =) Your Grandfather was a dear man, we all loved him. And your Grandmother is as dear as she can be.
Thanks for your nice comments on my blog.
Love, Heather =)
